The leader of Venezuela Hugo Chavez has wished the Belarusian dictator “to be re-elected” to the position of the president of Belarus.

“I have read that you are going to be re-elected again, Alyaksandr,” Chavez addressed Lukashenka live in a television broadcast. “Come on, guy, you should act powerfully, for them [the opposition] not to return to power in your country, like here, in Venezuela,” he stated.

Re-election of Alyaksandr Lukashenka is necessary, as “we must maintain independence and unity between us”, the Venezuelan leadr5 explained. Thanks to the fact that Belarus was a part of the Soviet Union, it has modern technologies, including the ones in construction of trucks, tractors and re-equipment of car park for liquified gas, Chavez said, Gazeta.ru reports.

Recently political and economic ties of Venezuela with Belarus are growing rapidly. Thus year deliveries of Venezuelan gas to Belarus have started. In March this year Lukashenka made his second visit to Venezuela. In his turn Chavez, who came to power in 1999, and has already announced his standing as a candidate in the presidential election in 2012, has visited Minks 4 times.
