Zhukouski, beaten by guards, sentenced to 10 days of arrest

IN the court room a Homel leader of the organizing committee for creation of the Belarusian Christian Democracy Kanstantsin Zhukouski announced he goes on a hunger strike.

On September 24 the court of Petrykau district found Kanstantsin Zhukouski guilty of resistance to police worker and using foul speech in a public place. Zhukouski did not plead guilty, but again stated that he had been beaten up by guards of Prime Minister Syarhei Sidorski, “Nasha Niva” informs.

We remind that the BCD activist has spent a few days in a hospital, where he was diagnosed a breaon concussion.

On September 17 at about 1 p.m. in the village of Lyaskavichy Petrykau district policemen detained the activist when he was on the way to an ethnographic festival “Call of Palesye”.

After being kept in the local police department for 5 hours, he was sentenced to 3 days of arrest. However on the way to the police department Zhukouski was no longer available on the phone. In a few hours it turned out that he was in the surgery department of Petrykau hospital with a brain injury.

As said by Zhukouski, people from the security service of Syarhei Sidorski, who was visiting the festival in Lyaskovichy, attacked him and beat him.
