November 18 marks 11 months from the day of arrest of the Young Front leader Zmitser Dashkevich and the leader of Minsk branch of the Young Front Eduard Lobau.

The both are still kept in prison, that is why the Young Front members inform the Belarusians about the political prisoners.

Today Minsk activists of the Young Front have disseminated several hundreds of leaflets with information about the political prisoners. The rally was held near Kamarouski market. Leaflets were flung down from the roofs of the houses near the market.

We remind that the judge of Maskouski district court of Minsk Alena Shylko passed a harsh sentence to the two leaders of the Young Front, against whom a provocative act had been committed: on December 18 last year they allegedly beat two unemployed passers-by. Zmitser Dashkevich was sentenced to 2 years of standard regime penal colony, Eduard Lobau – to 4 years in colony with a reinforced regime.

Judge Shylko found them guilty of hooliganism. Dashkevich was convicted under Article 339 Part 2 (“Malicious hooliganism”). Lobau was convicted under more harsh, third part of the article, “Especially malicious hooliganism”, as the investigators believe that he allegedly used an iron claw-ended lever during the fight.

Zmitser Dashkevich and Eduard Lobau have been recognized Prisoners of Conscience.
