People’s Assembly in Brest moved to December

The People’s Assembly in Brest is to take place on December 10, not on November 12.

BelaPAN has been informed about that by a member of the organizing committee, a deputy chair of the independent trade union of Radio and Electronic industry workers (REP) Zinaida Mikhnyuk.

“Such a decision has been adopted by members of the organizing committee and is explained by the fact that on October 8 not so many people took part in the People’s Assembly. There were 250 of them,” Mikhnyuk said. “Our city dwellers probably need more time to realize the problems which are everyone’s concern, and that we could solve them only together.”

As noted by Mikhnyuk, the People’s Assembly would be timed to the International Human Rights Day, December 10.

On November 11 in the court of Maskouski district of Brest the administrative case of Zinaida Mikhnyuk is to be heard. She was detained on October 8, about 20 minutes before the People’s Assembly started.
