High price for solidarity

Iryna Saroka, a judge of the court of the Leninski district in Mahilou, heard an administrative case against Maksim Antsipovich.

He was charged with taking part in a picket on January 16. The activist has been fined 15 basic units, Viasna Human Rights Center reports.

On February 8, the court of the Leninski district of Mahilou heard administrative cases against three participants of the action of solidarity.

BPF party activist Valyantsin Labachou was sentenced to 7 days of arrest, Syarhei Nyahatsin got 5 days of arrest. Mother of many children Natallya Shkadun was also found by the court a participant of an unauthorised picket and warned.

Public activists Syarhei Nyahatsin, Natallya Shkadun, and Valyantsin Labanau, punished for the action of January 16, have appealed against the verdicts to the Court of the Mahilou Region. They are waiting for a trial date to be set.
