On March 15, former presidential candidate Dzmitry Us was called in to appear before a KGB investigator and asked to sign an undertaking not to leave the town.
“I am in the KGB right now. They’ve taken my passport away and are going to issue an order changing the measure of restraint on recognizance not to leave the town. I don’t know why. I haven’t been brought charges, I am still a suspect,” Dzmitry Us told Radio Svaboda on the phone.
Dzmitry Us told journalists in January that there were attempts to persuade him into giving evidence against Mikalai Statkevich and say he had organized the mass riot on December 19. “I did not see anything like that when I was on the square,” Dzmitry Us said.
Dzmitry Us was detained on December 20 and released the day after. The former presidential candidate is a suspect in the criminal case of December 19.
