Who hides provocateurs?

The opposition activists, who have been questioned by the KGB Counterintelligence Department, claim the instigators of the provocation on Independence Square have not been detained.

Alyaksei Shein, the co-head of the organizing committee to create the Belarusian Christian Democracy party, told this to charter97.org.

“When I was summoned to the KGB Counterintelligence Department, I was asked how the ‘disorder’ on Independence Square had started. I watched a video showing a group of about 7 people beginning to beat the glass doors of the House of Government and calling on people to join them. I was noticed in the video, but I was among the people trying to stop this provocation. Then I was shown photos depicting this group at some distance from the doors, but still standing together. To my logical question who those people were, officers of the counterintelligence service had to reply they couldn’t find these persons.

Now participants of the demonstration are standing trials, candidates and members of their teams are in the KGB jail, but instigators of the provocation have not been detained, they are not involved in the criminal case. They even didn’t get administrative arrests after December 19, otherwise we could know their names and they would have been fingerprinted. It’s evident that the provocation on Independence Square was organized by the security services to eliminate the democratic opposition and excuse the mass political repressions,” Alyaksei Shein is convinced.
