Alyaksandr Atroshchankau marks his 30th birthday in KGB

Darya Korsak, the wife of the political prisoners, asks every sympathetic Belarusian to send greeting cards and letters to congratulate him.

Alyaksandr turns 30 on March 22. “He will be pleased. Even if he cannot receive some of the cards, KGB officers will understand that people are not indifferent to him,” Darya says.

According to her, KGTB officers try to make Alyaksandr Atroshchankau and other political prisoners feel forgotten. “As I understood, they say and implant a thought that no one is interested in them, no one needs them. They also try to make them feel guilty,” Darya Korsak told Belsat correspondents.

The wife of the political prisoner says that Alyaksandr Atroshchankau didn’t know that many sympathetic Belarusians wanted to attend the trial over him. “I assured him that solidarity was great even if he didn’t receive all letters,” Darya Korsak added.

On March 2, the court of Frunzenski district of Minsk sentenced Alyaksandr Atroshchankau, the spokesman for presidential candidate Andrei Sannikov at 2010 elections, to four years in a medium security penal colony allegedly for taking part in mass riot on December 19.

The address for greeting cards and letters:

220050 Belarus, Minsk, Central Post Office (Glavpochtamt), PO box 8, Alyaksandr Atroshchankau
