Criminal cases of Sannikov and Nyaklyaeu to be forwarded to Prosecutor’s office shortly

Today an application for changing the measure of restraint to the presidential candidate Andrei Sannikov, for dismissal of criminal persecution against him, and for additional investigation has been filed to the prosecutor’s office.

Interfax-Zapad news agency has been informed about that by Sannikov’s lawyers Maryna Kavaleuskaya and Andrei Varvashevich.

“After familiarizing with the case, an application was submitted to the investigation agencies to the head of the instigation department of Minsk city executive committee. We will also challenge the denial to change the measure of the restraint in Minsk city court,” the lawyers noted.

As said by the lawyers, the criminal case in which Andrei Sannikov is a suspect, is in 8 volumes.

Uladzimir Nyaklyaeu’s lawyer Uladzimir Bukshtynau has informed that on weekend his client finished familiarizing himself with the criminal case. “We are not planning to file any applications at this stage,” said the lawyer. As said by U. Bukshtynau, the criminal case comprises 29 volumes. However it was hard to say for the lawyer how many volumes are directly concerning U. Nyaklyaeu.

Mikalai Statkevich’s lawyer Maryna Statkevich has said that the case of her client, in which 7 persons are involved, comprises 5-7 volumes.

Dzmitry Uss, a presidential candidate, who has also finished to reading the materials of the case, has informed that the episodes related to this case “are at maximum half a volume”.

As it was informed earlier, the criminal case of Statkevich and Uss has been submitted to the court of Leninski district of Minsk, the day of the proceedings in the case has not been scheduled yet.

The criminal cases of Sannikov and Nyaklyaeu are to be received by the prosecutor’s office of Minsk some of these days.
