Poles and Germans to be deported from Belarus

Nationals of Germany and Poland Julianna Grynec, Andreas Schelhas, Janina Rolik, Guido Hansen, Jan Hendrik Krop, Katrin Heinrich, and Dorota Kubaszewska will be deported from Belarus on a court decision.

As Interfax-Zapad has learned from Pawel Marczuk, press attaché of the Polish Embassy in Belarus, Kubaszewska was fined. Besides, the court obliged her to leave the country. “We are satisfied with the court decision, because there’s always a danger of arrests here. Conditions are rather strict here,” the Polish diplomat said.

The Embassy of Germany in Belarus said the German nationals had got fines. “Besides, they were told they would be deported this evening,” the diplomatic mission notes.

According to human rights activists, the fines were 700,000 rubles (over 200 dollars according to the official exchange rate – Interfax).

The Polish and German nationals as well as Belarusian representatives of green and anarchist movement held a picket on April 25 against construction of a nuclear power plant in Belarus.
