Will Zmitser Dashkevich be allowed to attend mother’s funeral?

The court of Maskouski district of Minsk has allowed Zmitser Dashkevich to attend the funeral of his mother, who suddenly died on April 26.

The administration of the remand prison in Valadarski Street in Minsk, where Zmitser Dashkevich is kept, is still keeping silence.

Nasta Palazhanka, a deputy leader of the Young Front, has filed a request to let Zmitser Dashkevich to attend the funeral of his mother. It was done on request of Zmitser’s father, Vyachaslau Dashkevich, who is now organizing the funeral in the settlement of Staryja Darohi. The court has granted this application,” Nasta Palazhanka said to Radio Svaboda.

“The deputy chairman of the court of Maskouski district had no objections to that, and okayed Zmitser’s attending the funeral of his mother. But there is no information about the decisions of the remand prison administration and the Main Directorate of Interior Affairs, as the application was granted by the court, but forwarded to the remand prison and the police directorate. Jointly they are to decide, whether he could be released on this reason, and in which form it could be done.”
