Alyaksandr Klaskouski’s family may be deprived of house

Alyaksandr Klaskouski’s family may be deprived of house

The reason is that the flat’s main renter is in the KGB jail for taking part in a protest rally on December 19.

Being a father with many children, Alyaksandr Klaskouski got an opportunity last year to obtain a soft loan to build a flat and even paid some deposits. In early January, the bank must have opened a credit line of the sum the family needed for home building. But Alyaknsadr Klaskouski was arrested at the night of December 21. “It was only two weeks before obtaining the loan,” Natallya, the prisoner’s wife told Belsat.

After her husband’s arrest, the woman found herself alone with three children. Natallya is on maternity leave living on 285.000 Belarusian rubles of government aid. According to Natallya, the family couldn’t survive if it were not for the help from relatives and friends.

Natallya is looking for guarantors to receive the loan. The house construction is to be finished in December 2011. As the woman admits, she does not hope for a positive decision of the bank. “Of course, I’ll do all my best, but I was hinted in the bank I am unlikely to get a loan.”

“Even if the wife manages to get a power of attorney from her husband and find guarantors, she will have a very small chance to get a loan. The main renter is in prison, the family is insolvent,” an officer of a Minsk bank explains.

So, the Klaskouskis will have to further live in a small two-room flat of Alyaksandr’s parents.

Former policeman Alyaksandr Klaskouski is accused under article of mass disorder. He is also accused of insulting a representative of the authorities (article 369 of the Criminal Code) and (unauthorized appropriation of the title or the authority of an official (article 382 of the Criminal Code). He may face up to 15 years in prison.
