Mikita Likhavid postpones hunger strike and asks Budzimir and Malaletkin to spare themselves

Alena, Mikita Likhavid’s mother, has informed about the decision of her son to postpone the hunger strike for the period until the hearing of his cassation appeal against the verdict by the Supreme Court is held.

“That is why I call upon Budzimir and Malaletkin, who has decided to support Mikita, to spare themselves and to stop the hunger strikes of solidarity,” Alena Likhavid said to “Radio Svaboda”.

As said by Alena Likhavid, a lawyer Darya Lipkina communicated with her son in the remand prison in Valadarski Street. She managed to persuade him to postpone the hunger strike.

We remind that the activist of “For Freedom” movement Mikita Likhavid was sentenced to 3.5 years of imprisonment for participation in the events of December 19 by the court of Partyzanski district of Minsk. Likhavid’s lawyer has already appealed from the verdict. Two days after the trial Mikita Likhavid said he would start a hunger strike on April 4.

A well-known blogger Budzimir and a dweller of Vorsha Syarhei Malaletkin also announced hunger strike of protest.
