Charges brought against five participants of “The Square-2010”

Today Minsk City Department of Internal Affairs Bureau of Preliminary Inquest has brought charges against five other participants of the December 19 events.

Charges have been leveled against D.M. Drozd, V.V. Loban, E.V. Secret, and S.L. Kazakov under part 2 of paragraph 293 of The Criminal Code of The Republic of Belarus (“Mass riots”).

Charges have also been made against V.A. Matsukevich, who, according to reports from BelTA[Belarusian Telegraph Agency] “admitted his guilt in instigating mass riots participants to breaking into The House Of Government and arousing crowd hostility by public appeals”.

The other participants of the events – P.U. Vinogradov, V.N. Khomichenko, O.V.Fedorkevich will face the charges on the 5th of April, 2010.

The press-service of Minsk City Department of Internal Affairs especially stressed their statement that O.V.Fedorkevich and V.N. Khomichenko are not “decoys or agents employed by Belarusian law-enforcement bodies”.
