Only pro-Lukashenka media take part in an exhibition “Mass Media in Belarus” opened in Belexpo national exhibition centre.

Journalists of independent media were not allowed to have even one common stand. Entrance to the exhibition was free and no official invitation from organizers was needed to visit similar events in previous years, “Nasha Niva” newspaper reports.

The Belarusian Association of Journalists, which unites those working for independent media, called on all active people to come the exhibition entrance and express their protest against an intention of the Ministry of Information to close down independent newspapers “Nasha Niva” and “Narodnaya Volya”.

At noon, about ten journalists organized a collective reading of “Nasha Niva” and “Narodnaya Volya” in front of Belexpo centre. They finally managed to go inside and began demonstratively reading “Nasha Niva” and “Narodnaya Volya” when minister of information Aleh Prlyaskouski was speaking.
