Krambambulya under ban as well

5

On January 11 in the evening it became known that a concert of “Krambambulya band planned for February 11 in Re:Public club in Minsk is cancelled.

Euroradio was informed about that at the club.

- A concert of Krambambulya has not been cancelled, it was postponed, - said the director of the club Andrei Startsau. – The reasons are not related to Krambambulya. These are our internal issues with the organizers of the gig.

But a representative of the organizers of the event Uladzimir Shablinski calls the attempt of the club to terminate the rental contract for a performance hall for Krambambulya’s concert illegal.

“They are making a reference to some “extraordinary circumstances of internal character.” These are not force-majeure circumstances. Our agreement with them does not make provisions for one-side termination of the contract, and moreover on the part of the responsible party. We think that the contract is still in force, and we base ourselves on the Civil Code.

The listeners who have bought tickets for the concert have two ways. The first one is to keep the tickets till February 11. In case the concert would not take place, organizers are to refund 100% of the ticket cost. The second way is not to hope that the concert will take place and return tickets now.

- But in such a case it is considered an initiative of a listener. And consequently, we have a right to hold back 25% of the ticket cost. I recommend everyone who had bought tickets for Krambambulya concert to keep them. But I repeat that if someone’s plans have changed, they can address us, even tomorrow, - Uladzimir Shablinski added.

Krambambulya with its frontman Lyavon Volski is going to present their latest program “Drabadzi-drabada”. The organizers state that Krambambulya’s concert in Re:Public had been sanctioned by Minsk city executive committee.

We remind that previously it became known that a traditional concert of a well-known Belarsuain musician Zmitser Vajtsyushkevich on March 8 was banned as well.
