Russian urban explorers to be deported from Belarus

Seven Russian urban explorers, earlier arrested in Minsk for disorderly conduct, are to be deported from Belarus on January 12.

The estimated time of deportation is 6:00 pm, the press attaché of the Russian embassy in Belarus, Vladimir Marchukov, told Interfax-Zapad news agency.

“The term of administrative arrest expires today. The Russian diplomatic mission was infirmed they would be deported just after the release. Approximately at 6:00 pm,” the Russian diplomat said supposing the time was chosen to catch a train to Moscow.

As reported earlier, 13 citizens of Russia were sentenced to administrative arrests from 2 to 10 days over article 17.1 (disorderly conduct) of the Code of Administrative Offences of Belarus. The reason for the detention was a call to the Leninski district police department on January 2 from the director of Vostochny bus station, who informed about disturbance of public peace by a group of people in bus station’s guest rooms.

The Leninski district police department and the district prosecutor’s office issued an order to expel the detained people from the country. Under the country’s law, a decision on deportation was taken. They will be banned from entering the country within the nearest five years.
