Memory picket in Minsk (Photo)

Activists of European Belarusian civil campaign reminded Minsk dwellers about the disappeared politicians and public figures on the Solidarity Day.

A picket of memory was held near Belarus cinema. Activists were holding portraits of the disappeared people in their hands, the press service of European Belarus campaign informs.

“Belarusians should not forget that famous people, opponents of the authorities, disappear in the 21st century. Over ten years ago, Viktar Hanchar, Anatol Krasouski, Dzmitry Zavadsk and Yury Zakharanka disappeared. Some of them were real rivals of Lukashenka. We can see today that policy of the regime towards such people has not been changed. Opponents of the dictator, including presidential candidates, are being tortured and murdered in prisons,” one of the picketers said.
