Another blatant error of TUT.BY owner

101

Sometimes we have a wish that such a wonderful person, Yury Zisser, to keep silence.

Since January 6 filtering of websites banned in Belarus is to come into force finally.

At the website of BelaTA, Lukashenka’s new agency, the owner of TUT.BY portal has commented on this fact in the following way: “It is an accepted practice in the European Union, where hundreds thousands of pornographic and extremist websites are blacklisted.”

I offer Zisser to develop his idea by the following theses:

- In the European Union ballots are counted by election commissions in the same way (however teams of all candidates participate, and it is done absolutely transparently);

- the EU countries also have state media (however, they offer a possibility to speak both to their Lukashenkas and Sannikovs);

- Prisoners are also kept in prisons in the EU (but only Zhuravkovas, not people like Byalyatski, though it should be noted that people like Byalyatski are not imprisoned anywhere in such countries, and people like Zhuravkova are imprisoned in some countries, and not in others.)

Charter97.org, Belaruspartisan.org and Prokopovi.ch are neither extremist nor pornographic ones.

And these sites had been put on the list for blocking, together with the master of satire, Lipkovich. The first two websites are political websites, usual for Europe. They are scandalous and tabloid, but Zisser, who visits London, New York and even Moscow region, should know that no one persecutes oppositional websites in the EU. The third one is a website of citizens action and satire at the same time. Yes, it is provocative, but no one would block such a website in Poland or in Sweden in an analogous situation.

But that has not been said by Zisser to BelTA.

Or even if he noted that, he did not insist to leave this Nota bene in the text.

Why you are finding faults with Zisser, you may ask. It is a white lie.

In order to save TUT.BY, an important news portal, which communicates some truthful information, and even (oh what a courage and self-sacrifice!) posts news in Belarusian sometimes (as I was told by my friend when we discussed the incident when Volski was censored at TUT.BY ostentatiously).

And I must tell to you that I want this talented, wonderful person, Mr Zisser, to hold tongue sometimes.

Silence is golden. This truth would leave the situation the same for TUT.BY.
