Marathon for Ales Bialiatski’s freedom

1

A human rights activist Uladzimir Malei from time to time reminds the society about the imprisoned human rights defender Ales Bialiatski at marathon races and not only in Belarus.

Last weekend Malaryta saw an International marathon, which was attended by well-known runners from Belarus, Russia, and Ukraine. Uladzimir Malei ran the distance of ten kilometers having stated beforehand that he devoted the run to the 50-anniversary and freedom of Ales Bialiatski, the human rights center Viasna reports.

Malei was wearing a black T-shirt with Bialiatski’s image and writing “Freedom for Ales Bialiatski!” The human rights activist decently took the race despite a small injury and took a third prize among 60-year old runners. He was awarded with a diploma and a medal.
