Stanislau Shushkevich is finally crossed out of the list of the ones not permitted to travel abroad

Exactly six months after the prohibition to leave the country the politician was informed that he is permitted to travel abroad again.

In the department of interior of Minsk’s Central district the first head of independent Belarus Stanislau Shushkevich received a certificate according to which the politician was listed among the citizens of the Republic of Belarus, whose right to leave the country was temporarily restricted. The politician’s inclusion in the list was made on the grounds of a claim by the Ministry of Justice of Belarus, which was presented to him in the court on 5 March 2012, Narodnaya Volia reports.

In the Ministry of Justice itself they told Shushkevich that there was no claim and sent the politician to the Ministry of Interior. There they asked him to make a written request and in ten days responded with the following:

“..according to the examination’s results the fact was confirmed of technical failures in the information transmission about the citizens of the Republic of Belarus, whose right to leave the Republic of Belarus was temporarily restricted in the period from 24 February 2012 to 10 March 2012, which caused you being falsely listed”.

We would remind that on 18 March the former chairman of the Supreme Council of Belarus Stanislau Shushkevich was refused to be able to leave the country. The 77-year old politician wasn’t allowed to cross the border of Belarus with Lithuania. At the documents control a captain of the border control service said that there was an order not to let Shushkevich out of the country.
