Savinykh wants apologies for the “Swedish landing force”

The Belarusian side considers the incident with the Swedish plane a crime and waits at least apologies from the Swedish part.

“According to international law this is a crime. Me forwarded a respective request for legal assistance to the Swedish authorities but didn’t receive a response. The situation looks weird”, - the head of the information department/press-secretary of the Belarusian MFA Andrei Savinykh stated at a briefing in Minsk on Thursday, Interfax reports.

“In any case, the Belarusian part has a full moral rights to expect at least apologies and we will demand a response to our request, made in the framework of international law and international procedures”, - Andrei Savinykh highlighted.

According to him, the incident with the Swedish plane complicated the relations between Belarus and Sweden and in part with the whole European Union.

At the same time the MFA’s representative said: “In the situation with the Swedish plane everything is pretty obvious – a crime was committed, and the response is silence, the Western governments are playing mum”. According to him, “it turns out that the countries of the West encourage their citizens to commit crimes at the territory of other countries under politically correct slogans”.

Savinukh believes that in this case such a new phenomenon may be taking place as “western fundamentalism”. “How are we supposed to understand that? Can we talk in this context about such a new phenomenon as western fundamentalism?”, - the MFA’s representative asked rhetorically.
