Surykau to the Belarusian authorities: It never hurts to want things

Renewal of the oil supplies from Russia to Belarus in the previous amounts is still under a serious question.

Aliaksandr Surykau, the ambassador of Russia, told that to the news agency “Interfax-Zapad” in Minsk on Tuesday.

“I consider the situation over the hydrocarbons supplies to Belarus to be normal – there is a balance in distribution of oil and oil products. The oil supply to Belarus on the level of 4 mln tons in the IV quarter is explained by the oversupply of the hydrocarbon raw materials in the previous terms”, - Surykau explained.

Commenting on Belarusian side’s intention to restore the oil supplies in the IV quarter to the level of the III one, the ambassador said: “It want hurt anyone to have intentions, both - the Belarusian and the Russian sides included, but there are obligations of Russian in oil supplies to other countries”.

Meanwhile Surykau didn’t rule out the possibility of restoration of the oil supplies in the IV quarter is case there’s an increase in oil extraction in Russia. “If there’s overfulfilment in terms of extraction in Russia, then is could be possible to overfulfill the balance of the hydrocarbons supplies to Belarus”, - the diplomat summed up.

We would remind that in the IV quarter of 2012 Russia decreased the oil supplies to Belarus for 26%. The schedule of the supplies in October-December turned out to be 1,3-1,4 mln tons less than in the three previous quarters.
