Public transport prices go up tomorrow

Public transport fares in Minsk increase up to 1,700 rubles from October 3.

BelTA news agency learned it from Valery Shkuratau, the director of the state-run company “Capital Transport and Communications”.

The Ministry of Economy of Belarus approved the increase in public transportation fares in Minsk. Appropriate decision of the Minsk city executive committee No. 3043 of September 27, 2012, was posted on the National Legal Internet Portal.

The city authorities set fixed fares for passenger transportation by all means of regular-route public transport (except for shared taxis). A ticket will cost 1,700 rubles. A ticket for a ride on an express bus will cost 2,400 rubles. Passengers will be able to buy tickets from drivers of regular-route buses, trams and trolleybuses at a price 300 rubles higher than the normal one.

Public transportation fares were last raised in Minsk in spring from 1,300 to 1,500 rubles.
