It is allowed to hug only with an official permission

The Belarusian law about mass events is taken to the level of absurd.

No politics, no protests, no demands to anyone. In Mogilev they decided to celebrate the day of hugs, which was invented in 1986 by an American student, who needed a reason to hug the girl he loved. It is not ruled out that the initiators of the action in Mogilev also just needed a reason to hug a loved person whom they would be afraid to approach otherwise. But for a permission to hug they had to apply to the Mogilev executive committee. And only if it allows, the flash mob planned for 3 November will take place, Narodnaya Volia reports.

The participants want to gather near the city hall and walk to the park of the Victory’s 40-anniversary with smiles and hugs, so to say collectively fighting the autumn depression. But the officials have a depression all the year round, in everything they are looking for trick, and the ideal variant for them would be for people to come out to the streets of their cities only on community work days.
