Lufthansa maintains the plane of the Belarusian dictator

The Lufthansa airline accepted a dubious from the political point of view order.
In one of the hangars in Hamburg an executive jet of the Belarusian ruler Aliaksandr Lukashenka is undergoing preventive maintenance.
Boeing 737 number EW-001PA landed in the airport of Hamburg in the middle of October and was immediately taken for technical maintenance. As one of the mechanics explained, usual preventive works are being applied. According to him he himself, like many of his colleagues, understand the delicacy of the situation caused by the odious nature of the client, some of them even express serious doubts, Deutsche Welle reports.
The Belarusian part is satisfied with the quality work of the German specialists, German Der Spiegel reports
According to the journalists’ information, currently Lufthansa is negotiating technical maintenance of another Lukashenka’s plane. The Belarusian ruler bought the luxurious airliner Boeing-767 in May this year from his Turkmen colleague Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedow.
A representative of Lufthansa didn’t confirm but also didn’t disprove the information that appeared in media. According to him, a permission from the client in needed for providing such information.
The head of the Bundestag’s transport committee from the Green Party Anton Horfriter commented on the incident as follows: “As one can assume, Lufthansa is not in such a bad position that it has to take orders from the last European dictator”.
In June they repainted in Belarus Aliaksandr Lukashenka’s Boeing-767-300ER, which formerly belonged to the late ruler of Turkmenistan Saparmurat Niyazov. An agreement was made between Belavia and Turkmenistan Airlines of selling a used Boeing-767-300ER to the Belarusian part. The expensive purchase was financed from the Belarusian state budget.
