Dog’s life

Not only is the food for children increasing in price, but for pets as well.

Brest dwellers, who have pets in their apartments, were surprised to find out that the price for dog’s poop, produced by the local factory, increased two and more times. In the manufactures' store Veras the price for dog’s forcemeat increased from 6500 to 13000 roubles. In other stores it increased even more: in the Euroopt supermarket it now costs 14700 roubles and in Belbakaleya shop all 15600.

Brest residents are puzzled with such a rapid surge in prices on quite a peculiar product.

“How are we supposed to understand such an increase as long as mainly the waste from meat industry is used for dog’s poop? – local Artur Dantsou wonders. Before, one portion of forcemeat, made of processed meat and bones, was enough to boil it with porridge 3-4 time and please your pet. It took 30-40 thousand a month. And what to do now? I have recently been to Poland, there you can by normal food for people for the money they ask here for dog’s poop: chicken legs cost 5.90 zlotys (which is approximately 15 thousand roubles). Where are we going?”

As charter97.org found out, at the Brest meat processing and packing factory they say that the price increase happened because of the unprofitability of dog’s poop manufacturing. They immediately warned: “a price drop is not expected”. What concerns the price of the product in other shops, then the reason is the markup (every seller has the one of their own).

But such an answer can’t satisfy pet owners since with prices like that it would an expensive fancy to feed their domestic animals with the feed designed for them. Apparently dogs will have to change for people’s food.
