The workers of a furniture factory in Ruzhany received an advance payment of 20 thousand roubles.
As the workers of the enterprise told the charter97.org reporter, for the past two years the salary practically has not changed and now most of the workers receive a salary for their work which is equal to the minimal wage rate in the country. Even this money they do not receive regularly: usually in the very end of next month.
“What concerns an advance payment, than we never had any. And suddenly the administration decided to “help” the workers: every one of them was assigned with 20 thousand roubles! What can we buy for such money? Two loafs of bread and two milk cartons…” - perturbed are the workers of the Ruzhany factory, who think that the enterprise’s administration simply spit in the faces of their subordinates.
In the labour, employment and social security department of the Ruzhany district executive committee they confirmed that the workers of the enterprise received such a laughable advance payment, but highlighted that it was not implied by the collective agreement at all.
In the meanwhile, the average salary at the Ruzhany furniture factory remains one of the lowest among the five enterprises of the Bellesbumprom business concern and in average for the eight months of the current year it accounted to 1.8 million roubles. And the prospects are not rosy: the manufacturing volumes keep being decreased. The enterprise lost the floating assets and had to close one of the workshops last summer where 65 people worked.
