Belavia agrees on Russia's terms

The Russian and Belarusian air companies will operate five daily flights each from Moscow to Minsk.

The information was received from the press service of the Ministry of Transport of Russia after the talks between the two countries, Prime news agency reports.

Flights will be performed by Aeroflot and Belavia air carriers. The sides agreed on further liberalization of the air traffic, also within the Common Economic Space. “The sides already agreed to hold a trilateral meeting of Russia, Kazakhstan and Belarus for this purpose,” a representative of the Ministry of Transport said.

A conflict of Moscow-Minsk flights arouse in late March 2012. The Russian Federal Air Transport Agency claimed the Belarusian side made an attempt to use administrative measures to reduce the number of flights of Russian air companies from five to four a day. Russia and Belarus agreed in April that each side would operate five daily flights from Minsk to Moscow in summer.
