Queue at the border: MFA sent a note to Lithuanian embassy

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has sent a note to the Lithuanian embassy in connection with queues of trucks at the border.

Belarus expresses anxiety in connection with the situation at the border, namely at the checkpoint "Kamenny Loh - Myadzininkai". The Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs reminds that Lithuania should let 600 trucks cross the Belarusian-Lithuanian border every day. However, Lithuania stopped sticking to the existing agreement on December 5 and the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs is asking to solve the problem.

The queues appeared after 29 Lithuanian customs officers has been detained on suspicion of corruption.

Lithuanian customs officers accepted bribes of 20 or 40 litas from Belarusian drivers.
