Ales Makaeu will go on trial

A civic activist Ales Makaeu may celebrate the New Year behind the bars again.
He received a subpoena demanding that on 27 December at 9.30 a.m. he appears at the court of Minsk’s Moscow district. Ales Makaeu is accused of organizing a mass protest during the celebrations in honor of the heroes of the Slutski Zbroiny Chyn, Narodnaya Volia reports.
We would remind that in the middle of December policemen from Kopyl police department on the issue of the non-authorized action. Makaeu expressed categorical disagreement with the accusation. He claims that there was no action at all since the appeal for a meeting submitted by the BPF party was not approved. Instead a group of activists simply visited the places, connected with the events of 1920 in the Slutsk region, commemorating them.
