Hryshchenya: Men from black Chrysler attacked us (Photo, video)

“European Belarus” campaign activists have told how they were beaten and their flat searched.

As Belsat reports, the activists are going to challenge the actions of the policemen at court.

At about 8 p.m. on February 15 policemen in mufti who left a black Chrysler attacked Yaraslau Hryshchenya, Dzmitry Kalach and Hanna Salayova. Hryshchenya noticed the car from a distance. He said jokingly: “Look who’ve arrived here to us!” Without any explanations the guys were stricken down the ground, and beating started. The girl was put up against the wall.

Later a key was taken away from the pocket of Yaraslau Hryshchenya. The key was from the flat used by “European Belarus” movement. The men broke into the flat. There were six more activists of the organization there. They were put up against the wall immediately and hit on the legs.

Under a pretext of searching for drugs policemen started a search. They had not showed any documents: “They did not have a protocol of the room’s inspection or a search authorization,” Yaraslau Hryshchenya recalls. As a result, leaflets and banners in support of the presidential candidate, the head of “European Belarus” Andrei Sannikov and other political prisoners. The law-enforcers invited attesting witnesses only after the search finished. Instead of two persons, only one, an elderly lady living next doors, was invited.

Later six activists were taken to the police department of Savetski district of Minsk, three other to the police department of Leninski district. They were interrogated there and released without a report being drawn up.
