One more independent journalist gets a warning

The prosecutor's office of Hrodna warned independent journalist Ales Dzyanisau about consequences of working without accreditation.

“I received a summons for Tuesday,” Dzyanisau says. “I talked to deputy chief of prosecutor's department of the Hrodna region, Valery Pavyadaika. The ground was the footage filmed in the town of Svislach last year on the day of remembrance of participants of the 1863 rebellion. The footage was allegedly aired on Belsat channel. I told the deputy prosecutor the warning had no grounds, because it was impossible to prove my footage had been shown on Belsat.”

It is not the first warning to Dzyanisau for his work. He received a similar warning in 2009, when he was detained during filming at Nyoman glass factory, “Tvoi Stil” informs.

Dzyanisau may be fined from 20 to 50 basic units if he gets the second warning during the year.
