Snowmen demand to free Vinahradau (Photo)

Three protesting snowmen with posters appeared in Minsk centre.

Activists of European Belarus campaign demanded to release the recently detained civil activists.

The activists built three protesting snowmen with posters concerning Pavel Vinahradau's recent arrest for the so called “toy rally”. The snowmen appeared near Independence Avenue, in front of the central entrance to Cheluskintsev Park, ffight.org report.

“In such a way we show our solidity with Pavel and laugh at our law-enforcement agencies, which threw all their forces to arrest toys. It's interesting to see what will happen to these snowmen,” a participant of the action says.

The Maskouski district court of Minsk sentenced Pavel Vinahradau to 10 days in custody.

Judge Tatsyana Matyl found him guilty of taking part in an unauthorized action held on Minsk's Independence Square on February and titled “Toy protest”. Toys carrying posters “Alejandro, release people!”, “Cops ripped my eye out” and “Toys against lawlessness” were left on the square.
