Maira Mora left the EU Delegation office (Photo)

Today at approximately 13:30 the Head of EU Delegation to Belarus Ambassador Maira Mora left the office located in Minsk.

She drove from the parking lot in a Volvo with a diplomatic number plate. Rudolf Richard will now be the acting Head of EU Delegation to Belarus.

According to the media Maira Mora carried no luggage although the 24 hours that the Head of the EU Delegation has to leave Minsk are over very soon, Narodnaya Volia report.

Mrs Mora might have been heading to the meeting with the EU ambassadors who are determined to leave Belarus after Maira Mora and Polish Ambassador Leszek Szarepka were asked to leave. Today in the morning the diplomats were consulting Foreign Minstries of their countries.

Sweden’s Ambassador Stefan Eriksson is on vacation and cannot participate in the meeting of the EU ambassadors. And now because of this diplomatic scandal his return to Belarus may be postponed indefinitely.

Leszek Szerepka is reported to have left the building of Poland’s Embassy.
