Lithuania in favour of sanctions against dictator’s “purses”

On March 21 the Seimas of Lithuania held a round table discussion dedicated to Belarusian-Lithuanian relations.

Representatives of the Seimas, the Belarusian community in Lithuania, pubic figures and oppositional politicians from Belarus have taken part inn it. Alyaksandr Milinkevich, Stanislau Shushkevich (who was a speaker of the round table discussion) and a few more persons had managed to arrive to Lithuania. The main topic of the discussion transformed into a discussion on a possible imposing of economic sanctions against the Belarusian regime by the EU, Euroradio informs.

The head of the Foreign Affairs committee of the Lithuanian parliament Emanuelis Zingeris told that recommendations were worked out on that day, and the Foreign Minister is to go to Brussels with them.

The document was drafted after 4 hours’ discussion, and its content is to be kept secret.

“Look at my face, and you will understand that I am dissatisfied with which our minister is going to Brussels,” Zingeris said.

The only thing is known, Lithuania is going to take a stand in favor of economic sanctions against the dictator’s “purses”.
