Journalist among arrested at punk rock concert in Minsk

Alyaksandr Yarashevich, a reporter of Radio Racyja, is to stand trial for petty hooliganism.

On March 24 in the evening he was present at the concert at the MTZ House of Culture, where about 100 persons were detained. The concert was organized in support of “Food Not Bombs” movement. Late at night all the girls detained at the concert, and most of the young men, were released. Radio Racyja journalist and his common law wife Alena Dubovik were left in the police department.

According to human rights activists, 13 persons are to stand trial on Monday. One person is in hospital, he had been beaten up really hard.
