Dictator’s favourite hockey player arrested

A businessman and hockey player, president’s hockey club’s forward Pavel Bely, has been arrested in Minsk.

There are no official reports about that so far. The KGB and the Prosecutor General’s Office decline to comment on this information.

The businessman was arrested in Minsk in broad daylight right in his office, by KGB officers supported by Alfa special task force unit, Belarusian Partisan writes.

He is charged with money laundering and illegal transfer of 6 million dollars abroad.

As some sources claim, some time ago Pavel Bely had a spat with Lukashenka’s son Viktor, and allegedly there was a fight. After that the KGB started to make inspection of the businessman’s activities.

Pavel Bely built multistorey buildings in Minsk. The most famous of his projects is multistorey building apartment houses in Pershamajski district of Minsk. He was given first-rate lots of land in the city thanks to his familiarity with Lukashenka.

Pavel Bely was born in 1980. He was a forward in the presidential ice hockey club. He was always playing in Lukashenka’s three, and was considered his main partner in attack. He was playing a lot, and often scored the goal. At the website of the presidential hockey club he is still presented as a forward of the presidential team of Belarus.
