Director Viktor Priyomko and a deputy director of Agat Electormechanical Plant were detained in Minsk on February 22.

The Belarusian Investigation Committee confirmed this information for TUT.by.

The Committee promised to give more details later.

Agat Electromechanical Plant belongs to the State Military Industrial Committee. In early 2011, the republican unitary enterprise Minsk Electromechanical Plant was turned into joint stock company Agat Electromechanical Plant.

Agat Electromechanical Plant is the only plant in Belarus’s defence sector specializing in production, repair and sales of mobile and fixed automation complexes designed for controlling troops and combat means; systems and communications equipment for military purposes; training support assets (models, simulations, imitators) for armaments and military equipment; components and spare parts to the сcomplexes of automation and communications for military purposes; special equipment and technologies for production, repair and modernization of armament and military equipment.

We remind it became known yesterday the Minsk Department of the Investigation Committee detained Uladzislau Katsarenka, the chair of Technobank supervisory board.

The banker was detained on suspicion of committing an offence provided for by part 6 of article 16 (complicity in crime) and part 2 of article 243 (tax evasion) of the Criminal Code of Belarus.

“Investigators have grounds to believe the suspect aided and abetted officials of a number of economic entities in Belarus to evade taxes,” the Committee says.

Earlier a criminal case was opened against Viktar Shautsou, the chair of Belzarubezhstroy company supervisory board and chair of Trustbank supervisory board. The case is being investigated by the Belarusian KGB.
