Now looking for oil in Myanmar?

Belarus and Myanmar are studying joint oil and gas projects.

The statement was made today by Belarusian Prime Minister Mikhail Myasnikovich at a meeting with Energy Minister of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar Than Htay, BelTA reports.

According to the government head, state-owned Belorusneft company will make a partner in joint oil and gas projects in Myanmar. The Belarusian company has a rich experience of providing services abroad (Venezuela, Algeria, Iraq, India, Cuba, the Russian Federation). Mikhail Myasnikovich stressed that Belorusneft specializes in oil production at new deposits as well as at more advanced development stages. “The issue of further development of deposits is of current interest to your country,” Mikhail Myasnikovich said to the Myanmar minister of energy.

The Belarusian PM did not ruled out an opportunity of precious metals extraction in Myanmar.

“Now we are considering Myanmar’s proposals on gold, copper and stannum deposits,” Mikhail Myasnikovich said.
