Alyaksandr Atroshchankau forbidden to leave country for Lithuania

The coordinator of European Belarus civil campaign had a note allowing exit from the country.

As charter97.org has learned from Alyaksandr Atroshchankau and his wife were going to visit Vilnius as tourists. The citizenship and migration office of the Tsentralny district of Minsk issued him a certificate allowing exit from the country.

Atroshchankau was taken off the train at Gudogai station on the Belarusian border. Border guards took his passport and said after a check he was denied exit from the country. Atroshchankau's documents were stamped.

“It's clear that lists of travel banned people exist. Last time, I was accused of swearing on the Russian border and was not allowed to leave the country. It turns out now I am on the list. They refused to give reasons. The authorities seem to fear I will share my views on the situation in the country and talk to colleagues who had to flee from the country,” the coordinator of European Belarus civil campaign told charter97.org.
