Applicants of Chernobyl Way summoned to Minsk city executive committee

Applicants for holding Chernobyl Way-2012 have been summoned to come to Minsk city executive committee to clarify technical moments of the rally.

The meeting of the organizers with the city administration is scheduled for 10 a.m. on April 20, BelaPAN was informed by the executive secretary for creation of the Belarusian Christian Democracy Party (BCD) Dzyanis Sadouski.

Meanwhile the official document authorizing the rally has not been received yet. However, as said by Sadouski, “judging by the wording of the invitation, the rally is to be sanctioned.” “We are most likely to be given permission there, and we are going to negotiate an approval to our actions with the city authorities,” he said.

After the talks in Minsk city executive committee organizers of Chernobyl Way are going to hold a press-conference.

The application for holding the rally on April 26 was filed on April 10. The organizers ask to sanction the demonstration from 6.30 p.m. till 7.30 p.m. from the building of the National Academy of Science along Surhanau Street up to the Park of Nations’ Friendship, where they plan to hold a memorial meeting. The event is to be finished by laying flowers to the Chernobyl Chapel near the Church in honour of the icon of Our Lady “Seeking of the lost” situated near the park.
