Dziyanau’s Girlfriend Interrogated for 8 Hours in a Row

Marharyta Lavyshyk, a girlfriend of Vyachaslau Dziyanau, Revolution through Social Networks’ (RTSN) coordinator, and her friend Krystsina Kumejka, have been charged with using obscene speech.

BelaPAN has been informed about that by a human rights activist Anastasiya Lojka.

On April 19 Lavyshyk and Kumejka were fined Br 1.5 mln each by the court of Maskouski district of Minsk for petty hooliganism (Article 17.1 of the Administrative Code).

As the trial was in fact held behind the closed doors, Lojka was able to talk to Lavyshyk only after wards, and find out what the charges were.

The human rights activist believes that the girl had experienced a psychological trauma. “As far as I know, they were interrogated for 8 hours. By the way, while Marharyta is Dziyanau’s girlfriend, Krystsina does not have any ties with Dziyanau or the RTSN at all,” Lojka said.

We remind that on April 18 the five unknown burst into the flat of the girls. Marharyta was talking on Skype at that moment. She was seized and dragged out of the flat. Throughout a day none of the power ministries admitted that Marharyta had been detained. It is known that her computer was examined thoroughly. All personal correspondence was seized.

Dziyanau stated his girlfriend did not participate in the RTSN campaign, and was not involved in any other political activities. As said by him, on April 18 Lavyshyk was to leave for Poland to join him. He is sure that the arrest of his girlfriend and the trial are a revenge of special services “through our loved ones to those whom they cannot reach themselves.”
