Belarusians picketing Raiffeisen Bank Polska in Warsaw (Photo)

A number of protest actions near four offices of Raiffeisen Bank Polska were held in Warsaw on May 16, the Belarusian Solidarity Day.

All four pickets were carried out at 4 pm. Belarusians from Warsaw called on executives of Raiffeisen Bank Polska to stop cooperation with Belarusian state banks that indirectly funds the Belarusian dictatorship and helps the regime to remain afloat.

Belagroprombank and  Rаiffeisen Bank Polska SA signed a general loan contract about two months ago. Today's pickets are the fourth action of Warsaw-based Belarusians who want funding the Belarusian regime to be stopped.

“We are confident it will be a result one day – Raiffeisen Bank Polska will refuse from cooperation as Deutsche Bank did,” a picketer says. “We think clients and staff of   Raiffeisen Bank Polska should know their bank supports the Belarusian dictatorship. Funding the regime is giving a loan to the authorities to  suppress Belarusians and torture political prisoners in Belarus.”
