Nobody wants "Belaruskali" for this price

Minsk is ready to sell "Belaruskali", but nobody want to buy it for $32 billion.

This was announced by Belarusian Ambassador to Russia Andrei Kobiakov on May 17. Earlier, a potential buyer from India was reported to have stopped negotiations for the purchase of Belaruskali.

"The president named the price of Belaruskali - it has already risen up by $1.5 due to the dollar inflation in the world ... As far as I know, there have been no proposals, which would match that price, from the Russian side," said the Belarusian diplomat, reports RIA "Novosti."

According to him, the Belarusian government voiced its price and the company does not intend to change it. "If there is willingness, then there’s something to talk about. If you do not agree, then there is no derogation of the Russian side, or preference to any other party," said Andrei Kobyakov.

Alexander Lukashenko said on May 8 that the authorities were willing to sell any enterprise, even Belaruskali, which cost $32 billion.

Earlier, March 30, he declared that the price of Belaruskali was $30 billion.

Russia’s Uralkali , owned by Suleiman Kerimov, abandoned its plans to buy the Belarusian potash producer a year ago.

But Deputy Prime Minister Vladimir Semashko said on May 15 that the Belarusian authorities would never sell Belaruskali. He also said that at present the Belarusian authorities were not in talks with Indian Potash Ltd, which had previously taken interest in buying Belaruskali shares or concluding a long-term contract with Belarus.
