Policemen have keys to oppositionists’ flats

On May 17 Uladzimir Yaromenak was sentenced to a 7 days’ imprisonment. The guy was dragged out of his flat, which had been opened by policemen by their own key.

Today Uladzimir Yaromenak through his lawyer told about the details of his arrest on May 16 in Minsk. On Wednesday at about 4 p.m. Uladzimir was got out of the flat. The young man was beaten in the flat, as he did not want to leave the house voluntarily, the press-service of the Young Front informs.

The handcuffed member of the Young Front spent about an hour in the police car. Only in the evening at about 8 p.m. the guy was taken to the remand prison in Akrestsin Street in Minsk.

Today Yaromenak learnt from the report of the court that he was charged with alleged use of foul language in the street not far from his house, near the next house. He was charged under Article 17.1 of the Criminal Code.

Interestingly, in the evening when no one of Yaromenak’s comrades knew his whereabouts, probably the same policemen visited the same flat to detain Pavel Syarhei. It is not clear why the flat of the Young Front member was so attractive for policemen. The policemen already have keys to it.
