Yury Chyhilejchyk sentenced to supervised release

He was sentenced to 3.5 years of supervised release without transfer to special institutions.

Yury Chyhilejchyk was found guilty of illegal drugs trafficking, “Nasha Niva” writes.

As said by a human rights activist Andrei Bandarenka, he was released in the court room.

“The decision of the judge is humane,” Bandarenka said. Though, as said by him, Yury was not guilty.

Yury Chyhilejchyk was detained in November 2011. Andrei Bandarenka believes that drugs were planted while Yury was arrested. After serving a prison term for a fraud Yury Chyhilejchyk started to cooperate with Platforma human rights organisation. The fact of self-immolation in Ivatsevichy penal colony Nr 5 and other facts were obtained through him. In December Yury Chyhilejchyk was demonstrated in a mean film on Belarusian TV. However, he had been beaten up brutally. Then Bandarenka noted that Yury had been forced to say the things he said.
