Teenager was beaten by five policemen (Video)

A Young Front member Raman Pratasevich, who raised a national white-red-white flag in central Minsk, told how the detention was taking place.

“I was taken somewhere round the corner, for us to disappear from view. Two of them were holding me. They wrung my hands. One man was beating me on my head and legs, and two more stood behind hiding me from view,” the underage member of the Young Front said to Belsat.

Raman Pratasevich hung out a white-red-white flag on the building not far from the presidential Administration, on the building at the crossing of Lenin Street and October Square. Policemen in mufti and a minibus of riot policemen were already waiting for him downstairs.

“As soon as I jumped from the fire-escape, after I attached the flag, I received a powerful blow in my back. I was knocked down, making me lie my face to the ground, and my hands were twisted harshly,” Raman Pratasevich told. The guy was beaten in the street, and in the car the battery continued. “I was held there for 30 minutes, I was beaten a little there as well, and then I was placed into a usual police car and taken to the police department of Leninski district. I was detained there for 4.5 hours,” the young man added.

While the policemen kept the Young Front member in the car, they could not decide who was to climb the fire escape to remove the flag. “They were arguing for about 20-30 minutes, who would climb the roof, as everyone had fear,” Raman Pratasevich laughs.
