”Dictator” banned in Minsk (Video)

The movie is also banned in Turkmenistan and Tajikistan.

According to Nasha Niva, the rental movie and cinema institution of Minsk doesn’t plan to show the movie of Sacha Baron Cohen “Dictator” in Minsk. The movie telling the story of a middle-eastern dictator was released on 16 May.

The movie won’t be shown in Tajikistan either; unauthorized demonstration of the movie is illegal. The decision is explained by “the insults of the local people’s mentality”. Nor will the movie be seen in Turkmenistan. However, such bans lose any sense with the spreading of online resources.

Nevertheless, Russian cinemas show the movie: it was released in Moscow on 17 May.
