Lithuanian journalists in Belarus on media tour

Lithuanian journalists arrived in Belarus on 11 June for a media tour which will last until 13 June.

The group will include journalists from the First Baltic Channel, the Litovskij Kurier weekly newspaper, Baltios TV and the information agencies BNS and ELTA come to Belarus on 11 June.

During the media tour the journalists will visit industrial enterprises and agro-farms and the Lithuanian center for education, culture and information. The highlight of the tour will be an expert panel discussion “Belarus and Lithuania: the state and the prospects of cooperation”, which is due to be held in the public press center of the House of Press on 12 June. The participants will review the first Belarus-Lithuania Forum of Regional Cooperation in Molodechno and discuss different areas of further cooperation with the special emphasis on the pressing issues of Belarus-Lithuania relations.

The Lithuania journalists will also go to see the site of the future Belarusian nuclear power plant in Ostrovets (Grodno Oblast) on 12-13 June. According to Vladimir Matusevich, the Lithuania guests will be able to ask questions regarding the first Belarusian NPP to representatives of the Belarusian Energy Ministry, the Nuclear Power Plant Construction Directorate, the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus and the Belarusian Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment.
